Workflows

Step by step

Common jobs, in the order you would do them.

Turn a bank statement into a spreadsheet

For reconciliations and expense analysis.

  1. If the statement is a scan or phone photo, run OCR first so the numbers become text. OCR PDF
  2. Convert the PDF to Excel; each table becomes rows and columns. PDF To Excel
  3. Check totals against the statement before you rely on the figures.

Share a statement without the account numbers

When a landlord, visa office or lender needs proof but not every detail.

  1. Black out account numbers and unrelated transactions. Redact PDF
  2. Add a password and send it separately from the file. Protect PDF

Build a month-end pack

One file for the reviewer instead of twenty attachments.

  1. Merge the summary, invoices and receipts in the order they will be reviewed. Merge PDF
  2. Compress the pack so it stays under email and portal limits. Compress PDF

Privacy notes

  • Financial documents often include account and tax numbers. Redact what the recipient does not need before you share anything.
  • Files processed on our servers are sent over an encrypted connection, handled automatically with no human access, and deleted within 2 hours. You can delete them sooner from the download screen.
  • Conversion to Excel reads the text in the PDF. Always check converted figures against the original before using them in a filing.

FAQ

Questions

Will PDF to Excel keep my columns?

Tables with clear rows and columns usually come across as rows and columns. Statements with merged cells or wrapped descriptions may need a little tidying in Excel.

Can I convert a scanned bank statement?

Yes, run OCR PDF first so the numbers become real text, then convert the result to Excel.

How do I send a statement to a portal with a 1 MB limit?

Use Compress PDF and pick a target size, or remove pages you do not need with Split PDF first.

Are my statements stored?

No. Files processed on our servers are deleted within 2 hours, and Siliph does not need an account, so nothing is linked to you.
