Open a PDF in your browser to read, search, zoom, rotate the view, print or download it, with nothing to install.
This PDF reader online opens a file in your browser for reading only. Page thumbnails, a page number box, zoom from 50% to 300%, fit to width, text search with highlighted matches and a rotate view button help you move through it, and you can print or download the file. It is free and needs no account.
Step by step
Click Open a PDF or drop the file on the drop zone. The first page appears straight away and the thumbnails fill in down the left side as you scroll.
Click a thumbnail, use the previous and next arrows, or type a page number in the box and press Enter. Zoom in and out, choose Fit to width, or rotate the view a quarter turn at a time.
Type a word or phrase in Search and press Enter. Matches are highlighted on the page, the counter shows how many there are, and the up and down arrows step between them.
Use the printer button to send the PDF to your printer, or the download button to save the original file. Close the document with the X button when you are done.
Features
Every match of a word or phrase is highlighted on the page, the count is shown next to the search box, and the arrows jump from one match to the next across pages.
Turn sideways scans upright with the rotate button. Only the display changes, so downloading or printing gives the original pages. Use Rotate PDF when the file itself needs fixing.
Pages are drawn only as you scroll close to them and released again when you move away, and the thumbnail rail lets you jump straight to any page of a long report or manual.
The reader draws each page with pdf.js, the PDF engine that Firefox uses, and renders pages only as you scroll near them so long files stay quick. Search looks through the text layer and highlights each match. Rotating, zooming and fitting to width change only what you see; the file is never edited, so Download gives back the original.
Most browsers can show a PDF, but the built-in viewer differs from one device to the next, and some work machines and phones hand the file to an app instead. This reader looks and behaves the same everywhere: thumbnails on the left, page controls, zoom and search along the top, and the pages in one scrolling column.
Search reads the text layer, so it finds words in documents exported from Word, a browser or an accounting system. Scanned pages are images and will not match anything; make them searchable with OCR PDF and open the result here. If a file asks for a password, remove it first with Unlock PDF, as long as you know the password.
The reader never changes the document. When you do need changes, use PDF Editor to change text, Annotate PDF to highlight and comment, or Rotate PDF to save pages the right way up. To check how many pages and words a batch of files has, PDF Page Counter lists them in a table.
The file is opened in your browser and read on your device; it never leaves it, and pressing the X or closing the tab removes it from the page. Printing goes through the print dialog of your own computer or phone. The reader is free, needs no account and works on phones as well as desktops.

No, this page only displays the document. Use PDF Editor to change text and add images, or Annotate PDF for highlights, comments and drawing. The reader is for opening, searching, printing and downloading.
The pages are probably scanned images with no text layer. Run the file through OCR PDF to add a searchable text layer, then open the new file here and search again.
No. Rotate turns only what you see on screen, a quarter turn per click. Download and print still use the original pages. To save the rotation into the file, use Rotate PDF.
Zoom steps run from 50% up to 300%. Fit to width sizes the page to the reading area and adjusts automatically when you resize the window or turn your phone.
A file that needs a password to open cannot be shown here. If you know the password, remove it with Unlock PDF and open the unlocked copy in the reader.
No. The reader runs in your browser on desktop and mobile, with nothing to install and no sign-up. You can use it as often as you like at no cost.
