Type into the fields a PDF form already has, or click anywhere on a flat form to add your answers, then download it.
Fill PDF Form opens your form in the editor with the Text tool ready. Type straight into the fields the form already has, or click any blank line on a flat form to add your answer, then sign and download. It is free, needs no account, accepts files up to 200 MB and deletes them within two hours.
Step by step
Drag the PDF form into the drop zone or click Choose a PDF form. The editor opens it with the Text tool already selected, so you can start typing straight away.
Click a text box and type, tick checkboxes, pick a radio button or choose from a drop-down list. These are the fields the form author built in, and Tab moves you through them.
If a line has no field, click on it and type; the Text tool places a text box there that you can move and resize. Forms > Detect fields can also turn the boxes of a scanned form into real fields.
Pick Sign to draw, type or upload your signature and drag it onto the signature line. Undo and Redo are available for every change until you save.
Click Save. Your entries are written into the form fields and the page, and the finished PDF is offered as a download. Keep a copy for your records before you send it.
Features
Values typed into a fillable PDF go into the form fields themselves, not a layer on top. Checkboxes stay ticked, radio buttons keep their choice and drop-downs keep the option you picked when the recipient opens the file.
With the Text tool selected, click anywhere on a scanned or flattened form to type your answer at that spot. Move and resize each box so it lines up with the printed line or box.
The Sign tool adds a drawn, typed or uploaded signature to the form you just filled, so you send one finished file instead of printing, signing and scanning it again.
A fillable PDF carries its own fields: text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons and drop-down lists. The editor shows them as live controls, and the values you enter are written into those fields when you save, so the recipient sees a normally completed form. A flat form, such as a scan or a printed-to-PDF document, has no fields; there you click where the answer belongs and type, and the text is placed on the page at that spot.
Forms reach you in two kinds. A fillable form has boxes the author built in, and most viewers let you type into them. A flat form is only a picture of boxes, often a scan or a document exported without fields. This page handles both: the PDF opens with the Text tool selected, the built-in fields become live controls you can type into, and on a flat page a click on any line places a text box for your answer.
Tab moves between fields in the order the form author set. Checkboxes and radio buttons are clicked, and drop-down lists open a menu of the allowed choices, so you cannot send a value the form does not accept. For a flat form, Forms > Detect fields finds the printed boxes and turns them into proper fields; this is worth doing when you expect to fill the same form again. To build a fillable form for others to complete, use Create Forms.
Many forms end with a signature line. Sign PDF is the focused page for signing only, but the Sign tool is in the same toolbar here, so you can fill and sign in one pass. If the recipient must not be able to change your answers, run the result through Flatten PDF, which merges the fields into the page. To combine the form with ID scans or certificates, Merge PDF joins them into one file.
The finished form is saved on our servers, handled automatically with no human access, and deleted within 2 hours of the task. There is no account to create and no limit on how many forms you fill; each PDF can be up to 200 MB. For the full set of editing tools, open PDF Editor.

Yes. When the PDF has fillable fields, the values you type are saved into those fields, so Acrobat, Preview and browser viewers show them as a normally completed form. Checkbox, radio and drop-down choices are kept too.
Click on the line or box where the answer goes and type; the Text tool places a text box there. You can drag it into position and change the size. Forms > Detect fields can also turn the printed boxes of a flat form into real fields.
Yes. Checkboxes and radio buttons are clicked to select, and a drop-down list opens the choices the form author allowed. Your selection is stored in the field when you save the PDF.
Filled fields remain editable in most viewers. To lock them, download the completed form and run it through Flatten PDF, which merges the fields and their values into the page content.
Yes. Pick Sign in the toolbar to draw, type or upload a signature, then drag it onto the signature line. It is saved into the PDF along with your answers.
Yes. The form opens in a phone browser and you tap a field to type into it. On a flat form with no fields, placing text exactly on a line is easier on a tablet or computer, so zoom in before you tap where an answer should go.
